About Iryna Avilova

Founder, DELIGHT MEDIA — Architectural & Interior Photography

I didn't come to architectural photography through art school. I came through fourteen years in the industry that makes the buildings.

I started in 2006, selling window systems for residential and commercial projects — an unglamorous way of saying that my first job in this industry was daylight. For the nine years after that I ran KOLORIT DECOR, my own company in Ukraine, supplying European plasters, frescoes and finishes to developers, architects and interior designers.

Then I moved to Canada and started over, this time behind the camera.

That's why I photograph the way I do. I know what a material does in low light. I know which detail a designer fought for. And I know the photographs aren't the end of the project — they're what wins the next one.

Our Approach

Soft. Calm. Intentional.
I photograph architecture the way it’s experienced — slowly and attentively. This approach is especially important for projects where light, material, and proportion define the space. I observe how sunlight moves, shadows shape geometry, and textures create rhythm — and translate these moments into images that feel natural and precise. This results in images that are refined, consistent, and ready for real-world use.

Methodology

Working With Us

A calm, thoughtful approach to collaboration.

Designers and architects create thoughtful, complex work. We understand how much care goes into every decision.
Our role is to support that process, not interrupt it. We communicate clearly, plan carefully, and work quietly on site — respecting the space and your time.
We pay attention to detail, but we also understand timelines, constraints, and the realities of a working project.
Your work is not “content.” It is a craft — thoughtful, technical, poetic. And we treat it with the same respect.
The goal is simple — make collaboration feel easy and the result feel right.

A Little Honesty

Most of my work happens behind the scenes — long hours of reviewing, selecting, and refining images until everything feels right. What looks simple in the final result is often the outcome of careful observation, patience, and attention to detail. Light doesn’t always behave as expected — and sometimes it takes time to get it exactly where it needs to be. That process is what makes the difference.
